This collection was designed by Kayo Saito and made by the Flowering Desert project in India. Designer Maker, Kayo, has been running her own workshop since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2001 and takes her inspiration from natural forms.
Seaweed was part of her upbringing in Japan and she continues to be fascinated by its beautiful forms as well as its nutritional and healing properties and planet-saving potential. Kayo visited the Flowering Desert project in February 2023 and ran workshops to teach the artisans new techniques, including doming, forming and different hammering skills. Ponni and Ramya now work together on this collection, with stunning results.
